Description:
Series of books, Elementary, Intermediate and Advanced methods. "A fundamental Course for Individual or Like Instrument Class Instruction".
My Opinion:
Rubank methods book are all alike. They start out easy and then gradually get harder. They all present a challenge to the student and cover the basics of playing a instrument. The books include exercises and with sight reading material to develop music skills.
During my middle school days I worked with the Rubank books. They taught me allot threw 2.5 years. Basically Rubank series of books was what I used when I wanted a challenge. Although they were a pain in the butt to work on they provided a nice challenge witch helps students allot.
I wish that when I first started to play trumpet in elementary school that my band director would of had me start with the Rubank series of books. I would probably be a much better player today. I like to think of Rubank as the Arban of the band world because no matter what instrument it's written for it always provides a challenge and it makes the student that much better and it's also a complete course witch makes it better.
I would recommend this method to young trumpet players that are looking for a series of books that offer something that's easy for them to follow. I would also recommend this book for band directors all over the world. To me if you are a elementary school band director or middle school director you should buy this and have your students work on it. It provides a good challenge for all instruments in all different levels.
