My Opinion:

Like Rubank Standard of Excellence is also a complete method that comes in series. It offers exercises then a simple song. It explains everything very easy and in simple terms so that the student can understand.

When I first started to play trumpet I was started on this book. I finished it pretty quick and I learned allot. I really liked it because it took the time to explain all the musical terms really nicely and stuff like that and it was all easy to understand.

I think that the book is well put together. It's a little easier then Rubank so I would recommend the series more for more elementary musicians. Rubank does a fine job but I just think this does a better job with the basics.
